Notebooks      Word Processing

We build all our own workstations and file servers.  Meticulous care is given during assembly, such as making sure all components are mounted securely and cables neatly zip tied so they won't become loose or interfere with the system's cooling.  We install high quality fans to insure proper cooling (many system problems are caused by overheating).  Assembly is never rushed and each and every system is thoroughly tested before delivery.

When we build our systems and decide what components to use, we consider the following:

  • What kind of warranty/replacement policy does the manufacturer have?
  • Does it fall into the industry standards?
  • Are the reviews favorable toward the product?
  • Does it pass our own rigorous testing?

Some system builders use the "bargain of the week" components.  We only use Industry Standard, High Quality components such as:

Intel®    Samsung®    Western Digital®    Kingston ®
Antec®     Adaptec®   ATI®  Seagate®
Promise Technologies®    Microsoft®    SMC®    3Com®

Word Processing:

Todays word processing has been made much easier with the use of a computer and a good word processing software.  We support both Microsoft® Word® and Corel™ WordPerfect®.    When choosing your word processing software there are a couple of considerations.
  • Will you be sharing documents with other business outside of your own?
If you do, and you will be using things such as, graphics and tables, then you will probably want to use Microsoft Word, as Microsoft seems to have captured a larger portion of the word processing market..

With Corel WordPerfect you can save your documents in a Word format, but sometimes things such as graphics and table are not converted well.

  • Will you be creating brochures and news letters?
If the answer to this question is yes, then you may want to consider Corel WordPerfect.  Corel is more focused on graphical functions.  WordPerfect also has reveal codes, which can be very helpful when trying to correct unexpected results. And the ability to publish and edit PDF files.
Both manufactures offer suites which include; word processing software, spread sheet software, presentation software, etc.  LAN Network Connections is an authorized distributor for both Microsoft and Corel.  We offer support on both products.
